FIX 1 – Run the Troubleshooter
- Write troubleshoot in the search bar > select Troubleshooting.
- Choose View all.
- After that click on Windows Update > follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
FIX 2 – Close all the Active Apps
It is found that closing the entire active apps helped to fix the errors. A user suggested that he closed all the apps including Skype, Onedrive, Ventrillo, Blizzard Games Launcher, Curse Updater, Visual Studio 2015, Firefox and Edge. As it is not clear which one is causing the issue so he closed all the apps, but it is found that many users are facing the problem with the Skype.
So, try to close the apps and especially Skype, as it is the main culprit.
FIX 3 – Turn off the Internet connection When the Update Download is Finished
- First, go to Windows Update > Check for Updates
- Choose Learn More > link will open on the default browser
- Now click on Get the Anniversary Update now. The folder name is Windows10Upgrade28084
- Open it and assure it downloads all the files.
- Turn off your Internet/WIFI/LAN IMMEDIATELY when download reaches 100%.
